A 17-year-old boy was shot Tuesday evening on the Near West Side.

About 5 p.m. the boy was in the 2400 block of West Madison when someone started chasing him, according to Chicago Police. He then heard gunshots and realized he’d been struck in his groin.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was stabilized, police said.
