University of Nebraska College of Law Dean Susan Poser has been named provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
UIC announced the appointment Tuesday. If trustees approve, it will take effect Feb. 1.
Poser is a scholar of legal ethics and tort law. She also served as chief of staff to the chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and worked on polices related to academics, enrollment, alumni relations and fundraising.
As an undergraduate, Poser studied ancient Greek and political science at Swarthmore College. She has a Ph.D. in jurisprudence and social policy and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
She also clerked for Chief Judge Dolores Sloviter in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit
