9 Chicago restaurants among Open Table’s best of 2018

More than 12 million OpenTable diners have named their top restaurants in the USA. They range from restaurants with celebrity chefs to small, hidden gems.

The verified diners reviewed more than 28,000 restaurants in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. New York had the most honorees, with 24 restaurants on the list.

California followed with 15. Illinois had nine thanks to Chicago. And Texas had eight. Pennsylvania had seven winners and Washington D.C. had six.

The Chicago restaurants on the list are Boka, Ema, Gibsons Italia, Girl & the Goat, Maple & Ash, Oriole, RL Restaurant, RPM Italian and Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab (Chicago is the chain’s main location).

The most popular cuisines were American and Italian. French, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern followed closely behind.

The list was generated from diner reviews collected between Nov. 1, 2017, and Oct. 31, 2018. Since its inception in 1998, OpenTable has seated over 1.6 billion diners via online reservations around the world.
