No cause of death for body pulled from Lake Michigan

An autopsy was inconclusive for a body pulled from Lake Michigan on Sunday morning, with no cause of death determined.

About 7:15 a.m. Sunday, a boater called authorities after seeing the body three-quarters of a mile offshore from the 2500 block of North Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago Police and Fire Department spokesmen.

The police Marine Unit pulled the body of an adult male out of the lake, authorities said.

He remains unidentified as of Tuesday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy did not rule on cause and manner of death pending further studies.
