An 18-year-old man was shot in the Little Village neighborhood early Sunday on the Southwest Side.

He was walking on a sidewalk in the 2200 block of South Marshall Boulevard about 1 a.m. when someone got out of a dark van and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The 18-year-old was shot in the back and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
