A hair salon in northwest suburban Palatine will remain closed indefinitely after a fire damaged the building Sunday night.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at a strip mall at 56 W. Palatine Rd. at 10:16 p.m., and found smoke coming from Chris and Dora’s Hair Salon, according to the Palatine Fire Department.

The first firefighters at the scene forced entry into the building, pulled a hose line and aggressively attacked the blaze, according to a statement from the fire department.

The fire was declared under control about 15 minutes later, according to the statement.

The salon was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

The salon will be closed indefinitely until repairs are completed.
