Chicago police are warning drivers about a pair of vehicle thefts reported over the past two months in the Lake Meadows neighborhood on the South Side.

Both times, the vehicles were legally parked but vanished upon the driver returning, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The thefts occurred:

  • about 8 a.m. Jan. 26 in the 500 block of East 33rd Place; and
  • between 12 and 5 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 400 block of East 34th Street.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
