A man was shot to death Wednesday night on the Near West Side.

Officers responding to calls of shots fired about 8:30 p.m. found 28-year-old Dionysus English shot multiple times in the 100 block of South Western, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

English was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. He lived in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
