A person was shot and seriously wounded Saturday night in a South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting.

The male, whose age was not immediately known, was standing in the street about 9:40 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Aberdeen when someone riding in a passing black SUV shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to a hospital in serious condition, police said. Additional information was not available.
