A man was shot Sunday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

About 12:10 p.m., the 25-year-old was sitting on the sidewalk in the 800 block of West 66th Street when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been struck in his side, according to Chicago police. He then noticed a male pointing a gun at him from the passenger side of a vehicle.

He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
