A pickup truck crashed into a house Saturday night in northwest suburban Round Lake Beach.

About 9:50 p.m., fire crews received a call of a car in a house in the 1300 block of North Brentwood, according to the Round Lake Fire Department. No one was injured.

The entire pickup nearly went into the house, with “only about 18 inches” outside of the building, Round Lake Fire Chief Greg Formica told reporters at the scene.

“It could have been a disaster if people were home,” Formica said, adding that the no one was in the building at the time of the crash. The structural collapse team from Lake and McHenry counties was called so that the house would not fall down.

Additional details, including the cause of the crash, were not immediately available early Sunday.
