Eight people were killed and at least 12 others wounded in shootings Wednesday across Chicago, in addition to a 11-year-old boy slain by accidental gunfire, according to Chicago Police.

The latest homicide happened about 11:35 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Dan Rance, 23, was outside about 11:35 p.m. in the 700 block of North Long when someone walked up and opened fire, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Rance, who lived in the same block, was shot in the chest and torso and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

About two hours earlier, a 19-year-old man was killed in an Englewood shooting on the South Side.

About 9:45 p.m., Jimmy Tripp was in the 800 block of West 68th Street when someone walked up and shot him several times before running off, authorities said.

Tripp, who lived in the 7300 block of South Emerald, was dead at the scene, authorities said.

Less than an hour earlier, a 60-year-old man was shot dead in South Shore.

Ira Washington was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in the hallway of a building in the 6800 block of South Merrill shortly after 9 p.m., authorities said. Washington lived on the same block where he was shot. A police source said the shooting might have been narcotics-related.

Late Wednesday afternoon, a man was killed and two others wounded in a Belmont Cragin neighborhood shooting on the Northwest Side.

About 5:30 p.m., the three men got into a fight with another person who then pulled out a gun and started firing in the 5900 block of West Diversey, according to police.

Daniel Guerra, 19, was shot in the neck and chest and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Guerra lived in the 2100 block of North McVicker.

A 23-year-old man shot in the back also was taken to Illinois Masonic in critical condition, and a 22-year-old shot in the hand was taken to Community First Medical Center. His condition stabilized, police said.

About 24 hours earlier, an 18-year-old man was killed and a 21-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting about a half mile south.

Wednesday morning, three men were shot—one fatally— in another South Shore attack.

Just after 9 a.m., they were standing outside in the 2600 block of East 74th Place when someone walked up and started shooting. Vuan Evans, 25, was taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:40 a.m., authorities said. Evans was from the 3100 block of South Cheltenham Place.

A 29-year-old man shot in the back was taken to Stroger Hospital. Police initially said he died but he was listed in critical condition early Thursday. A 50-year-old man was also shot and taken to Jackson Park Hospital. He was in good condition and expected to be released, police said.

In the early morning hours, two men were slain in an Uptown neighborhood shooting on the North Side.

The attack happened at 2:17 a.m. when 28-year-old Michael Laster and 33-year-old Jonathon Thompson shot two other men in the 5000 block of North Winthrop, according to Chicago Police.

Robert Anderson, 34, of the 7900 block of South Ridgeland was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Michael Gibbs, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. His home address was unknown Friday evening.

Both men, who had documented gang ties, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Laster, of the 6100 block of North Seeley, and Thompson, of the 5400 block of North Kenmore, were later identified as the shooters, police said. They were each charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

A judge on Friday denied bond for both men, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. They are due back in court Sept. 23.

Wednesday’s first homicide happened about 12:20 a.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot at 12:20 a.m. in the 2700 West Lexington found 25-year-old Troy Burtin unresponsive on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the head, chest and groin, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Burtin, of the 2800 block of West Polk, was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later, authorities said.

A police source said he was a documented gang member.

Additionally, 11-year-old Antwone J. Price died after a family member accidentally shot him in the abdomen about 9 p.m. in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood’s 7400 block of South St. Lawrence. The relative accused of shooting him — 19-year-old Eurel Wilford, of Rockford,  has been charged with one count each of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon with no license for concealed carry and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a FOID card, all felonies, police said.

In non-fatal shootings:

— Two men were shot about 8:30 p.m. in the 10500 block of South LaSalle in the Roseland neighborhood. One man, 20, was shot in the face and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said. The other man, 26, was taken to another hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition was not immediately available.

— An 18-year-old man was shot about 2 p.m. in the 300 block of North Latrobe in the Austin neighborhood. He was taken to Loretto Hospital in good condition, police said.

— A 41-year-old man was shot in the side in West Englewood’s 6800 block of South Ashland about 1 p.m. He was taken to Christ Medical Center, and police said his condition stabilized.

— Two men in a vehicle were shot in Humboldt Park on the West Side about 5 a.m. when people yelling gang slogans on the street opened fire, police said. The driver, a 19-year-old man, suffered graze wounds to the forearm and wrist, police said. He drove them to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. The front seat passenger, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the lower back and listed in critical condition at Norwegian.

— A 27-year-old man standing outside about 12:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Jackson in East Garfield Park heard shots and realized he had been shot twice in the back of the head, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, and he wasn’t cooperating with investigators.

— A 21-year-old man was shot in the back in Austin’s 100 block of North Central about 12:20 a.m. and taken in critical condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said.
