A 26-year-old man was shot dead early Sunday in the Brighton Parkneighborhood on the Southwest Side, authoritiessaid.

About 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2500 block of West 46thPlace and found Daniel Cardova unresponsive and laying on the ground between two parked cars, Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cardova was a documented gang member who lived in the Brighton Park neighborhood, according to authorities.
