A man was found shot to death Sunday morning in an alley in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 5:35 a.m., officers responding to a call of a person down in the alley in the 5300 block of South Washtenaw found 28-year-old Juan Martinez laying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:54 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.
