A 34-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

At 6:22 a.m., officers responded to a reported burglary in the 11700 block of South Normal and found Terry D. Torrence in the doorway of a home, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Torrence had been shot in the head and buttocks, and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He lived in the South Side Burnside neighborhood.

Area South detectives were investigating the events leading up to the shooting.
