A 38-year-old man was shot to death early Sunday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Omar Kent had just parked his vehicle about 12:35 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Fifth Avenue when five males walked up, one of whom pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Kent was shot in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:50 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 2300 block of South Kirkland.
