An 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood Sunday evening.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 2500 block of West 68th Street at 6:09 p.m. found Latwon A. Rogers at the mouth of an alley with a gunshot wound to the head and multiple gunshot wounds to the body, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Rogers, of the 5800 block of South Campbell Avenue, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 6:47 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Chicago Fire Department crews responded to the fire around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of West 16th Street. No injuries were reported. The fire was put out about 9:30 p.m.
