A teenager who was killed in a rollover crash that injured two others early Sunday in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side has been identified.

About 1:30 a.m., Angela Neelsen, 17, was sitting in the passenger seat of a Toyota SUV driven by an 18-year-old woman in the 3600 block of North Major, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. When the woman failed to stop at a stop sign, the vehicle crashed into a Chevrolet car.

The SUV was speeding and rolled over several times after the crash, police said.

Neelsen was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:02 a.m., authorities said. She lived in the 5700 block of West Newport Avenue.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said. The 46-year-old man driving the Chevrolet was taken to Community First Medical Center, where his condition also stabilized.

The woman driving the SUV was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign, police said.
