The ramp from the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson Expressway (I-55) will close early Tuesday as part of the ongoing Lake Shore Drive/Interstate 55 Interchange Project.

On Monday, the far right lane on southbound Lake Shore Drive will be the only lane for the exit to the outbound Stevenson Expressway. But that right lane will be closed before 18th Street from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, according a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The ramp from southbound Lake Shore Drive to to the outbound Stevenson Expressway will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Traffic will continue on Lake Shore Drive and exit at 31st Street, where drivers can reenter northbound Lake Shore Drive and use the ramp to connect to outbound I-55, according to the statement.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra travel time through this area.
