Swimmer reported missing in Lake Michigan found at home

A swimmer who was reported missing in Lake Michigan at Ohio Street Beach Sunday night was found safe at home.

The 24-year-old man was last seen swimming in the lake at the beach in the 600 block of North Lake Shore Drive about 11:10 p.m., police said. The search went on through the night and into Monday morning.

At 10:42 a.m. Monday, the Chicago Fire Department said the man was located safe at home and “never told his friends he was out of the water.”

Police and fire crews assisted in the search.
