A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a Gresham neighborhood shooting late Saturday on the South Side.

He was standing outside at 10:42 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 7500 block of South Carpenter when someone in a blue van fired shots in his direction, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the chest and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
