Three women and two men were shot early Saturday outside a party in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The five were standing in a courtyard in the 0-100 block of North Lorel about 3 a.m. when a gunman approached from a gangway and fired multiple shots, police said.

A 33-year-old woman was shot in the “neck or face” and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. A 37-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks while a 38-year-old woman was shot in the hand, police said. They were also taken to Sinai Hospital, where their conditions had stabilized.

The two men — one 23 the other 26 — were each shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions had stabilized.

No one is in custody for the shooting and Area North detectives are investigating.
