An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with burglarizing a home early Friday in Elmhurst.
About 3:30 a.m., a homeowner confronted a 17-year-old boy in the attached garage of his home in the 300 block of Hill Street, according to the police in the west suburb.
The homeowner called 911 and as officers arrived, they found a white Buick with an 18-year-old man in the driver’s seat a short distance away, police said.
The driver told police he had an accomplice that was still on foot, police said. A police dog found the teenager hiding inside the attached garage of another home in the same block.
Eddy J. Herrera, 18, and the 17-year-old, whose name was not released, were each charged with residential burglary, police said.
