Two hurt in Little Village crash

Two people were hurt in a three-car crash early Sunday near I-55 in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood.

The crash happened in the 3500 block of South Kedzie about 1 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Two cars, a Chrysler 200 and a Mitsubishi Spyder, had exited the Stevenson Expressway at Kedzie when a southbound Nissan Ultima sideswiped the Chrysler, lost control and struck the back of the Mitsubishi, police said.

The driver of the Nissan, a 29-year-old woman, and a front seat passenger, a 23-year-old woman, were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the backseat, a 24-year-old man, was taken to Stroger Hospital to be checked out, police said.

The drivers of the Chrysler and the Mitsubishi both refused medical attention at the scene.

Citations are pending as of early Sunday. Police could not immediately say whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
