Two shot in Austin

A man and woman were shot early Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 2 a.m. in the first block of South Leamington, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left leg, and the woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with wounds to the chest and ankle, police said. Their conditions were stabilized.

Police said the victims, both 23, were being uncooperative with the investigation.

It was the third shooting on the block in less than 24 hours.
