A 57-year-old west suburban woman died a month after being hit by a car in west suburban Stone Park.

Maria Garcia was hit by a car at 3406 W. North Ave. in Stone Park on Jan. 15, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Garcia, of the 1800 block of 34th Avenue in Stone Park, was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Friday found she suffered pulmonary thromboembolism and deep vein thrombosis, and she died after complications of blunt force injuries after a vehicle hit her. Obesity was listed as a secondary cause of death.

Stone Park police could not be immediately provide further details.
