A woman was shot Sunday evening during a home invasion in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:40 p.m., the 31-year-old woman was cleaning an apartment in the 7900 block of South Wood when a male she didn’t know made his way inside and attacked her, according to Chicago Police. When she tried to defend herself, he shot her in the right arm and ran away.

The woman took herself to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, where she is listed in good condition, police said.
