A 24-year-old woman was shot Tuesday afternoon in the McKinley Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 2:36 p.m., she was entering the yard of a home in the 2100 block of West 33rd Street when someone fired shots from an approaching vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was shot in the abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The woman is not believed to have been the intended target of the shooting, police said.
