Yellow Line service suspended after train derailment

CTA Yellow Line train service was temporarily suspended Thursday night after a train derailed in north suburban Skokie.

A southbound Yellow Line train derailed near the Dempster-Skokie station about 9:30 p.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.

Two CTA employees who were on the train at the time requested medical attention for minor injuries, Hosinski said. There were no customers on board.

Yellow Line riders should take the No. 97 Skokie bus instead. Additional bus service has been added.
