A man was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 4:53 p.m., the 24-year-old was standing outside a home in the 4400 block of West Washington when someone walked up and shot him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

A family member took him to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
