A man was killed in an Austin neighborhood shooting that left another man wounded by errant gunfire late Thursday on the West Side.

About 10:45 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 5000 block of West Concord found 22-year-old Solomon Walker on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old man who was standing on a corner nearby was shot in the right leg, and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said. He wasn’t thought to be an intended target.

Solomon lived in the 1700 block of North Monitor.
