WASHINGTON–President Barack Obama is sitting down with six television network anchors in a series of one-on-ones to press his case for a Syria attack–in time for the evening newscasts–in advance of his Tuesday night speech to the nation. I just saw the six anchors and their associates being escorted into the White House.

The anchors:

CNN, Wolf Blitzer

PBS, Gwen Ifill

ABC, Diane Sawyer

NBC, Savannah Guthrie

FOX, Chris Wallace

CBS, Scott Pelley

Each network will get about seven minutes–maybe a few more.
