DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17 AND MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2013

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will host President Giorgio Napolitano of Italy for a bilateral meeting in the Oval Office. President Napolitano will soon conclude his term in office, following a long and distinguished career of service to Italy, a close ally and friend of the United States. The President looks forward to welcoming President Napolitano to pay a farewell call and further reinforce the strong and enduring bonds between our two countries. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

Later, the President will welcome to the White House the 18 recipients of the 2012 Presidential Citizens Medal, the nation’s second-highest civilian honor. The President’s remarks in the East Room are open press.

In the afternoon, the President will travel to Chicago, Illinois. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at Chicago O’Hare International Airport are open press.

While in Chicago, the President will deliver remarks at Hyde Park Academy to discuss proposals unveiled in the State of the Union Address that focus on strengthening the economy for the middle class and those striving to get there. The President’s remarks will be open press.

Later, the President will depart Chicago, Illinois en route Palm City, Florida. The departure from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and the arrival at Palm Beach International Airport are open press.

The President will remain in Palm City, Florida through Monday, February 18, 2013. There are no public events scheduled.
