WASHINGTON–First Lady Michelle Obama hits San Francisco on Friday for a high-dollar late afternoon fund-raiser at the California Academy of Sciences and some government business, launching the new Coast Guard Cutter Stratton in Alameda. On a western swing, she worked in vacationing with her daughters Malia and Sasha, checking out Mount Rushmore and Las Vegas this week.

President Barack Obama is in Vermont and Maine Friday for four fund-raisers (see details below). Vice President Joe Biden headlined funders in Chicago and Milwaukee on Thursday.

The proceeds in the Michelle Obama and Biden fund-raisers go to Obama Victory Fund 2012, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee, and the State Democratic Parties in the most important battleground states.

Here is how the money is divided, per the campaign: “The allocation for funds raised under this Agreement shall be as follows: The first $5,000 of a contribution to OVF 2012 will be allocated to Obama for America (with the first $2,500 designated for the primary election, and the next $2,500 for the general election).

“The next $30,800 of a contribution will be allocated to the Democratic National Committee. Any additional amounts from a contributor will be divided among the State Democratic Party Committees as follows, up to $10,000 per committee and subject to the biennial aggregate limits: FL (17%); OH (16%); PA (13%); CO (11%); NC (11%); VA (11%); NV (6%); WI (6%); IA (5%); and NH (4%)”

FROM FRIDAY OBAMA POOL REPORT

President Obama will attend four events today: two in Burlington Vermont, and two in Portland, Maine.

On background from a campaign official: “On Friday, President Obama will attend campaign events in Vermont and in Maine. In the afternoon, he will deliver remarks at a fundraising luncheon with approximately 100 supporters at the Sheraton Burlington in Burlington, Vermont. Tickets for this event start at $7,500 per person. Following the luncheon, he will deliver remarks at the University of Vermont in Burlington. There will be approximately 4,500 supporters at this event which will feature a musical performance by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. There were student/activist tickets available for $44, with general admission tickets starting at $100 per person.”

“Later Friday, the President will travel to Portland, Maine where he will deliver remarks at a fundraising reception attended by approximately 1,800 people at the Southern Maine Community College. There were limited Gen44 tickets available for $44, with general admission tickets starting at $100. Finally, in the evening, President Obama will attend a fundraising dinner with approximately 130 supporters at the Portland Museum of Art. Tickets for that event start at $5,000 per person.”
