Mayor Rahm Emanuel is in Washington on Monday, meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House in the afternoon and huddling with three cabinet secretaries on various Chicago issues.
Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff, was with Obama last Thursday, when the president was in Chicago to headline a fundraiser for Gov. Pat Quinn and to deliver a speech at Northwestern.
Emanuel’s Monday meetings are with Obama and:
Interior Secretary Sally Jewell to discuss designating Pullman as a national historic park.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald to discuss his push to end vet homelessness.
HHS Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burrell, who he knows from their time together in the Clinton White House, to discuss early childhood education issues.
