Did mummified woman who died six years ago vote in 2010?

There’s voter fraud, and then there’s this kind of voter fraud.

In 2010, Pia Farrenkopf voted in Michigan’s gubernatorial election in November. The problem is at that time, Farrenkopf was dead in the back of her Jeep in her Pontiac home and her body was gradually being mummified.

While the medical examiner is waiting for dental records to do a positive ID, officials have connected enough dots in the case and all signs point to the body belonging to Farrenkopf.

And while a 2012 New York Times report showed 1.8 million dead Americans were listed as registered voters, this case is different — because voting records show the corpse cast a ballot, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Voting records in Oakland County show Farrenkopf … as voting in the November 2010 gubernatorial election. Pontiac city records indicate Farrenkopf registered to vote in 2006 and had not voted until 2010.

For now, county officials are holding out hope that Farrenkopf didn’t actually vote and instead will be able to chalk it up as an administrative error.
