The Illinois State Rifle Association, as well as pro-life groups, are urging members to back state Sen. Kirk Dillard in Tuesday’s gubernatorial GOP primary.

At the same time the pro-Dillard endorsement came out, a new mailer hit pro-gun households today trumpeting the ISRA endorsement. The mailer was 1/2 anti-Rauner and 1/2 pro-Dillard and put together by, guess who, the Steve Shearer PAC that’s out to deny Rauner the GOP nomination. (Shearer is the former chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill.).

Illinois Federation for Right to Life PAC as well as Illinois Citizens for Life PAC, are supporting Dillard.

On Wednesday, the ISRA sent out a “urgent” message to tell it’s 1.5 million members to back Dillard on Tuesday. Here’s their endorsement.

The ISRA Political Victory Fund (ISRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Senator Kirk Dillard in the Republican primary for Governor. Along with Senator Dillard, Senator Brady and Treasurer Rutherford have been staunch, long standing proponents of the Second Amendment and the efforts of the Illinois State Rifle Association. It is clear, however, that Senator Dillard alone presents the best opportunity to defeat Governor Quinn in November. We urge you to vote for Senator Dillard in the Republican primary on March 18.
