All that House Speaker John Boehner wanted to do was eat his breakfast Thursday morning at a Capitol Hill diner. But immigration policy got in the way.
The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, a Nashville-based activist group, posted a video on YouTube.
Speaker Boehner, I just want to ask you why you want to break the dream of the DREAMers, of the students, the activist said. Can you please express your opinion about that? One second. Just one second. I really want to know why you have broken the dream of the DREAMers. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That’s not very nice, Boehner said.
Boehner then gets up, walks around the back counter and exits out the front door.
He did have cash in his hand as he was walking, so all indications are he didn’t do a dine and dash.
