Columnist Michael Sneed has the details on President Obama’s new deputy chief of staff, who is a North Shore native:

Dateline: The local line . . . President Barack Obama is adding another New Trier High School graduate to his top White House team. Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff, also is a graduate of New Trier.

◆ Top shot: Anita Decker Breckenridge, who graduated from the North Shore school in 1996, is replacing Deputy Chief of Staff Alyssa Mastromonaco, who is expected to have a top role in the creation of Obama’s presidential library.

◆ Backshot: Breckenridge, 35, who is now Obama’s personal Oval Office assistant, has worked for him since he served in the Illinois Senate.

The decision comes after escalating pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step aside following the June 27 debate, in which the 81-year-old president trailed off, often gave nonsensical answers and failed to call out the former president’s many falsehoods.

The Bears’ running back had 156 receptions for 1,198 yards and seven touchdowns in three seasons with the Lions, but only 39 receptions for 214 yards and one touchdown with the Eagles last year. He figures to get a bigger opportunity in Shane Waldron’s offense in 2024.
