WASHINGTON — The Republican National Committee chairman is predicting a “tsunami” of GOP victories in the mid-term elections this fall.
RNC chief Reince Priebus says the party has shifted its focus to year-round, on-the-ground political organizing in the states. That was one of the recommendations the RNC’s Growth and Opportunity Project — known in political circles as “the autopsy” — made a year ago in assessing what went wrong during Mitt Romney’s presidential bid.
Priebus also says he supports the Growth and Opportunity Project’s recommendations that Republicans take up immigration reform. But he told a breakfast organized by the Christian Science Monitor Tuesday that differences remain in how the GOP should define that.
Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz says the GOP should focus on its policies, not its public relations.
