SHARE Emanuel, Obama Twitter accounts have fun with healthcare push

The office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel shared a funny tweet Wednesday evening that urged people to sign up for Obamacare ahead of the March 31 deadline.

“Because #LifeHappens,” the tweet read, accompanied by a photo of the mayor’s partially amputated middle finger, the result of an accident with an Arby’s meat slicer while in high school.

Minutes later, Barack Obama’s Twitter account shared the photo and added the caption “Always to the point.”

At least they always look on the bright side, right?

It’s not the first time jokes have been made at the mayor’s (finger’s) expense. At a political roast in 2005, then-senator Barack Obama casually joked that Emanuel was rendered “practically mute” after the accident. Lest someone accuse the mayor of not having a sense of humor, he erupted in uproarious laughter.

You can watch the full 8 minute roast (in higher quality) here.
