U.S. Senator Mark Kirk says there’s no way a social conservative can win a statewide election in Illinois and during an interview Sunday with Fox News Chicago, said it’s crucial for Republicans to emphasize their moderate positions on social issues.

Kirk goes on to say that Bruce Rauner has a much better chance of defeating Quinn in November because Rauner’s a social moderate and has much more appeal for suburban voters.
