After the story came out that Bruce Rauner sent a “Quinnochio” impersonator to follow Gov. Quinn around campaign stops, it didn’t take long for people on social media to make the connection to a West Wing episode featuring a very similar stunt.

In the season 5 episode “Freedonia,” several Democratic candidates are fighting to win the New Hampshire primary. Josh Lyman, campaign manager for the trailing Congressman Santos, sends someone in a chicken suit to confront the frontrunner about avoiding debates.

So we have to ask…
