Is the political system broken? Yes, if you listen to President Barack Obama comments about the GOP — and his own party as well.

While speaking at a high-dollar fundraiser Wednesday night in Manhattan, The Hill reports Obama told attendees that he’s been stymied because “Washington doesn’t work.”

We have a party on the other side that has been captured by an ideology that says no to everything, Obama said. There might have been a time when that was an exaggeration but now it’s not.

And what about the Democrats? He said his own party has a “congenital disease” in addition to a “structural problem” that causes problems in midterm elections when their own voters don’t show up.
