Heading into midterms, Democrats in worst shape in 20 years

There’s a bit of a role reversal happening between the Democrats and Republicans heading into the midterm elections.

A new poll released by Pew Research shows 47 percent of voters would cast a ballot for their district’s GOP candidate, compared to 43 percent who said they’d vote for the Democrat.

That’s the worst support Democrats have had at this point leading up to midterm elections since 1994.

Two months ago, Democrats were getting 46 percent of the vote compared to Republicans’ 44 percent.

The poll also revealed some bad news for President Barack Obama, at least where his administration’s policies are concerned.

Of those polled, 65 percent said they want the next president to pursue different policies than the current administration.
