New York Democrat quotes Kanye West's 'Gold Digger' during debate

New York State Senator Daniel Squadron sure knows how to get someone’s attention during a floor debate, and all it takes is dropping some song lyrics from Kanye West, among others.

Wednesday, while speaking against a bill about ticket resale laws, the Democrat incorporated a handful of music lyrics to try to make a case for new regulations that would prevent people from scalping tickets to charity events.

“Those that takes charitable funds when New York City is in need, yeah, that’s a trifling friend indeed,” Squadron said as he quoted from Kanye West’s “Gold Digger.”

He continued:

“Money it’s a gas. Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash,” Mr. Squadron said as State Senator Diane Savino called out the names of the artists. (Pink Floyd, in this case.)

“We don’t need no education. We don’t need no thought control to know that this is simply wrong, even if we have become comfortably numb,” he continued.
