This could end up being a very, very expensive campaign for both Gov. Pat Quinn and his Republican challenger Bruce Rauner.

Quinn, who debuted his first ad touting the state’s “comeback,” on Tuesday, and Rauner already has anti-Quinn ads running.

But what do they cost?

CBS Chicago reports that both candidates are dropping more than $300,000 a week on TV ads, with more than a month to go until Labor Day. That’s when the big spending usually begins down the home stretch.

Where’s all the money coming from to pay for those ads? From two very different types of donors for each candidate.
