Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback wants his state to be ready for any disaster — including zombies.

As a result, Brownback will sign a proclamation Friday in the Kansas Statehouse designating October as “Zombie Preparedness Month.” Apparently, you never know when “The Walking Dead” will become reality.

It’s being done in coordination with the Kansas Division of Emergency Management.

“If you’re equipped to handle the zombie apocalypse then you’re prepared for tornadoes, severe storms, fire and any other natural disaster Kansas usually faces,” said Devan Tucking of the KDEM.

This isn’t the first time a government entity has used zombies to prepare for natural disasters. In fact, the Pentagon has detailed plan to stop a zombie apocalypse.
