Gone are the friendly ads showing Bruce and Diana Rauner bantering about his bad plaid shirt.

The Rauner campaign is airing a new ad that blames Gov. Pat Quinn for putting sex offenders, wife beaters and murderers back on the street.

The ad is a reference to a controversial 2009 early prison release program that resulted in some violent prisoners getting out of prison early. It was a thorn in the governor’s side during his 2010 election.
