How’s this for a potential matchup: Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke against House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, who has reportedly described himself as “David Duke without the baggage.”

On Wednesday, Duke did a radio interview on The Jim Engster Show in Louisiana, where he said he may just run against Scalise, whom he called a sellout.

Buzzfeed has the audio.

“I might just have to run against Steve Scalise,” Duke said on the show. “I really might, I’m definitely going to consider it.”

Scalise has come under fire for a 2003 appearance he made before the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, a white supremacist group founded by Duke. He later said appearing before the group was “a mistake I regret” and condemned the views of the group.

“He should resign because the difference between Steve Scalise and I is that he campaigned on the same issues that I introduced to the Republican Party, but he sold out,” Duke said.
